Early in my life I developed a fascination with birds and their migration.  This interest and my innate creativity led me to begin carving birds more than 20 years ago.  In 1990 I learned the craft of mold making and began to reproduce my original carvings.  Thus Richard Lamson Studio was born and I began to make my hobby my livelihood.

Over time my creativity has taken me down many paths.  I have always been one to use positive affirmations and have found them very helpful to maintain a positive approach to life.  From that practice emerged my inspirational product line.   Many of those pieces reflect my love of nature and my affection for the ancient Chinese text the "Tao Te Ching" .
